FKFicFest 2014 Sign-up Progress
Sign-ups for [community profile] fkficfest/fkficfest opened one week ago; they have one and a half weeks to go. One sign-up has arrived so far (yay, early bird!) and four people have mentioned the game (that I've seen). I've now posted promotional announcements to ForKni-L, [community profile] last_writes and oldschoolfic. Next: [community profile] fandomcalendar!

I made a promotional mini-banner for the game again this year. If you're inviting your friends to play FKFicFest, please feel free to embed the image (where appropriate):

still contemplating
So far so good. I've drafted my prompts, but the pairing prompt needs some more contemplation. I'm currently debating whether I should phrase it more detailed or keep it more general. The latter would allow the writer more freedom and more of a surprise for me.More details would push the writer in the right direction. Provided the pairing prompt is chosen at all. Difficult.

Love the banner by the way!

Greetings from Amsterdam (currently attending a congress)

Re: still contemplating
Thanks for the kind words on the banner, and good luck making your prompt slate all that it should be! :-) There's definitely a sensitive border between too many details and too few.

Mine is in progress, too. I know that I'll enjoy all the stories, and I think that I'll be happy with almost any FK story in response to my own prompts ... any FK story that doesn't happen to boldly push my personal most keen "cringe" buttons, that is. ;-) So there's the trick of prompt slates.

I hope that Amsterdam is pleasant for you. Just curious: how are you traveling between there and your home -- car, train or plane?

Amsterdam
I came by car. It's only 235 km. However, I'm glad my hotel is located at the vicinity. I would't want to drive within the city. I'm using metro and tram now to get around.
Amsterdam is very crowded. Amazing. I suppose that's because of the weekend. I'm staying 'til Tuesday. So will see how it is on weekdays.
