Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Hanukah!
Happy (US) Thanksgiving! Happy Hanukah! What are your favorite Thanksgiving and Hanukah fanfictions in fandoms I may know (especially FK, HL, YB, original BSG)? Please link me!

My own favorite Hanukah fanfic is the counterintuitively named "I'll Be Home for Christmas," a Forever Knight story by Marian G. (December '93) that's not available online, but you can enjoy it if you can find the hard-copy zine Forever Net Before Christmas edited and produced by Valery K. (or if you visit me in person, you may read it from my shelf ~grin~).

Off the top of my sleep-deprived, holiday-hurried head, however, I can't think of a single Thanksgiving story. How odd!

Yep, definitely, and the AO3's tags serve where they can, too. :-)

Thanksgiving seems a strangely under-served holiday for fanfiction, which puzzles me. Inside FK, of course, we could note that a holiday primarily celebrated by a meal -- and one usually eaten before sunset, at that -- is a huge obstacle for the vampire characters, and of course it's of limited service for flashbacks outside Canada and the US, and before certain historic markers. Yet it's also rare in other fandoms without comparable canon obstacles, while it's exceedingly common in comics canon (back when I read the X-books, they had a Thanksgiving issue almost every year) and while not as frequent as Christmas or Halloween episodes on television, is nevertheless more common than, say, Easter or Valentine's episodes.

Just musing...
