FKFicFest 2013 Sign-ups Open

Sign-ups for the 2013 [community profile] fkficfest/fkficfest exchange ficathon game are open through Friday, May 17 (11:59 PM Pacific Time). Please ponder your prompts, sign up, and invite your friends to play, too! We'll have a blast sharing new Forever Knight stories with each other!

I've paid anew for both the LJ and DW FKFicFest accounts now, so everyone — regardless of account status — may view our LJ community without advertising (DW is advertising-free regardless). I plan to mention the opening of sign-ups on forkni-l and LastWrites myself later this week; if you'd like to premiere the news anywhere else, please go ahead!

Using the AO3 was so easy and pleasant last year, wasn't it? We'll do it the same way this year. I'll still match manually, however, to the best of my ability; I believe that our relatively small community wouldn't benefit from the AO3's matching automation. (I imagine that the distinction between, say, a traditional Knightie and a Dark Knightie, or UF and CotK, is much bigger to us than it looks on the other side. ~grin~) I've given matching strategies even more thought since last year; if you have reflections, please share.

My life is in a little turmoil this year. I hope that all works out well, but in case it's awkward at game time, that's a secondary reason for the discontinuation of door-prize drabbles; those party favors are a lot of work, and as they evidently do as much harm as good, it seemed best to let them go.
