Please Do Not
I have been informed that someone is attempting to get people to write "thank you" stories for me for posting in [community profile] fkficfest/fkficfest.  I appreciate the thought!  Thank you!  However, please do not do that.  Please follow the community rules as written.  No non-match "bonus" stories will be released on the community.  Please plan to take the "after party" to fkcommentfic as will be explained on the community in this evening's posts.  Please write anything there you like in accord with that community's rules!

As it is such a big problem, I promise to never write "door prize" drabbles again.  I am sorry for causing distress by inflicting them in the first place; I wish I'd never had the idea.  They were supposed to reward the on-time players (there were a lot of late players that first year).  I would delete mine for this year now, but that would be unfair to the kind people who pitched in to complete them, and unfair to the few people without while all the others got attention.

I'm having a mildly difficult time recently. Please don't make it harder by throwing me curveballs. Thank you very much!

=( I'm sorry you're having such a hard time all the way around this year. I must admit it sucks that we must lose the door prizes. It was one of the things I looked forward to. Oh, well. In any case, I hope you have a better day than yesterday.

//via 2nd gen Kindle on bus// That was my first, panicked response this morning. I'll consider alternatives better later? I was told that I was making everyone feel bad by posting drabbles and not giving an opportunity to post in return. That was my first thought to solve the problem.

I just want things to go according to plan. /wry/

At least my car started and got me to the park and ride! Very happy and grateful.

I would just like to step up and say: You did not make me feel bad by gifting me a drabble. I was very flattered, in fact.

I'm glad. Thank you!

Maybe we can post all the prompts somewhere and people can write drabbles or extra stories with no minimum word count for whatever prompt they choose???? That way the people who want to write for you can and everyone else has a chance of getting a new story, too???? I don't know, though. Just throwing a random suggestion out there! LOL

In any case, I'm glad the car still works and got you there!

>"Maybe we can post all the prompts somewhere and people can write drabbles or extra stories with no minimum word count for whatever prompt they choose?"

Yes, exactly; that is the plan! Just like last year -- only better? -- the "dead dog party" will happen over on Amilyn's fkcommentfic community, which is designed for precisely that scenario.

In this case, the very well- and generously-intentioned individual did not wish to accept "Thanks! Please post on FKCommentFic!" as my final answer, and did not understand that when I said, "Don't surprise your mod; she hates that," I meant, "Don't surprise your mod at the last minute; she will completely and utterly flip out, like sprung clockwork." ~wry~

I think that the drabble idea is lovely! I'm sure anyone who wanted to write a gift fic for you could quite easily do so should you feel comfortable posting prompts in fkcommentfic. And if you don't want to do so, then everyone can be asked to graciously accept a gift that was given with no thought of reward - or they can pay it forward by writing someone else a drabble in the comment fic comm.

>"I think that the drabble idea is lovely!"

Thank you! It seemed important to recognize the people who did everything as they were supposed to. (That first year, there was a default, a drop-out and much lateness.)

>" I'm sure anyone who wanted to write a gift fic for you could quite easily do so ... in fkcommentfic."

I agree! I plan to play on FKCommentFic and I hope that everyone else will, too. In this case, unfortunately, someone declined to accept "Thanks! Please post at FKCommentFic!" as my final answer.

Goodness knows, I'm not objecting to more FK fic! :-)

(This individual had never before witnessed me flip out when taken by surprise at the last minute. Now everyone has, I suppose... ~wry~)

I hadn't realized said person refused to take the answer you had given them. That's a shame! Whether this person understands your feelings or not, they certainly should be able to respect them.

Yep: three times.

Thank you!

I favor breathing. :-) Thank you!

I wouldn't bother y'all with my little inconveniences, but having many happen at once was affecting my modding; I haven't been able to do nearly as well by the community as I want to.

And I'm afraid that I deal poorly with surprises at the very best of times. My subconscious processes them as ambushes and kicks on the fight-or-flight to a degree that is utterly inappropriate in modern life. But there I am...

No one wants to make things harder for you. We've had a marvellous time this year, just as in the past; and we're very grateful to you for making fkficfest possible.

I appreciate that. Thank you.

Thanks
I appreciate the drabbles. They're a nice thought and mine was so wonderfully on point.

I think the suggestion that was made (and quickly recalled) was just because we all so appreciate all the work involved in getting the FKFicathon up and going and the thoughtful and considered comments you make on each story. It's an amazing amount of work, and I think I can safely say we all appreciate it.

Re: Thanks
I'm glad the drabbles work for you!

And thank you for the kind words. I would be delighted to be the lucky recipient of follow-up stories in the after-party on fkcommentfic. My distress came from insistence on placing them on fkficfest, which was not the plan, and not covered by the game rules, nor by my draft admin posts.
