Casual Fly-By Multi-Fandom Mini-Recs
With a special call-out to those of you who enjoy supporting f/f storytelling, I want to share that hearts_blood has written an innovative, intriguing FK piece for a prompt that I submitted in a meme game: "Tripping Over Mountains" (~700 words, PG; Cohen/OFC).  This is not the first personal Cohen story in the history of the fandom! But... it's unfortunately close. I know of precisely two others.

While I am making entirely informal recommendations (while falling yet further behind on the formal recommendations project), did I ever properly emphasize that all BSG'78 fans should check out "The Poet's Son" (~9K words, PG; Boomer, Nomen OMCs, Starbuck, Apollo), which malinaldarose wrote for one of my prompts in the last oldschoolfic game?  This is a brand-new, strong, plotty, themed, canon-aware, gen adventure starring Boomer!  Where else can yet get that kind of treat?

And if you're an adult whom the Big D wishes would Not Write Or Read Such Things, you might enjoy this Oh So Adult Tangled tale: "What You Don't Know" (~90K, NC-17; Eugene/Rapunzel, Pascal, Maximus, Queen, King, Snuggly Duckling Crew, etc.) by Airplane. Blame neonhummingbird, 'cause I usually don't go anywhere near... eep! (It's the themes and parallels, honest. And Eugene thinks he doesn't do backstory...)

What are the others? I'd like to add them to the nigh-on empty FanFic section on Cohen's wiki page.

Cohen Stories
Roxy wrote one, perhaps four years ago. McLisa wrote the other, perhaps twelve years ago. If they don't turn up easily for you, I'll be happy to look them up when I have just a smidge more time...

I'm really glad you liked that story! (Of course, I don't have a Boomer icon....)

High-Quality Boomer Gen
And I do not have a Boomer icon, either, and thus we end up here. :-) I had intended to create a Boomer icon specifically for the purposes of properly recommending your story, and then I got caught up in other things... you remember, perhaps, that this was the time of my computer crash, two overlapping ficathon deadlines, and launching this year's FKFicFest... did I really neglect to rec your delightful tale all this time? I'm sorry! Yes, I do enjoy and appreciate "The Poet's Son" very much. It's a fully functional story, and that seems depressingly rare in fanfiction these days.

Re: High-Quality Boomer Gen
Oh, don't worry, I wasn't begging for recs or anything of the sort. I just love it when people like my stuff.

As for fully functional, I actually have problems writing things that aren't...although I do seem to be in the middle of a series of Avengers character sketches.

AO3
Is there an AO3 copy to which I should link instead, to help people give you the comments and kudos that "The Poet's Son" deserves?

Re: AO3
The Old School community is just fine, but it's at archiveofourown.org/works/430286.

*Blushes* You're too kind. And thank you for the prompt! It was one of the most challenging I've ever received. :)

The Cohen Canon Void
We knew Cohen circa 1994-1995. That prompt seems to me one feasible approach to her unrivaled self-containedness, and it interests me that it is an approach the feasibility of which is historically constrained -- that is, wholly believable then, a little less applicable every year. The present day storyline has become historical fiction.

Thanks so much for the recs! I loved Boomer in BSG'78! :D

The Real Boomer
You're welcome! I'm fond of all the BSG'78 characters in their own ways -- though I admit to shorter patience with Sheba, Athena and Boxy -- but Boomer is a particular favorite for his even-tempered practicality and the way that trait balances Apollo and Starbuck's very different enthusiasms.
